A history of agreements

The history of our family is all about ties.
Ties to the previous generations that have bravely walked on the path paved by the founder’s vision; ties to our territory with which we proudly share history and old traditions and finally, ties with all the women and men that for nearly 150 years have contributed with their work and dedication to make all this possible.

Brave men are recognizable by their small daily actions.

1875
Vito Curatolo decides to follow his dream and builds a winery in the middle of his vineyards in Marsala.

1880
Vito commissions the famous “Art Nouveau” architect Ernesto Basile, to design the labels for his wine. As of today the labels are still proudly on our bottles and are appreciated worldwide for their elegance and finesse.

1890
The winery expands internationally and becomes one of the first exporting companies in Marsala shipping wines to Europe and to the Americas.

1896
When Vito passes in 1896, his sons, Francesco, Vito, Leonardo and Giuseppe continue the business expansion of the winery.

1970
In the 70s the company joint ventures with the Seagram Group. Assisted by wine experts from the Californian Davis Wine Institute, the winery starts table wine production.

90’s
In the 90s with the assistance of Alberto Antonini, the winery started the monovarietal project: modern tasting wines expressing all the unique characters and flavours of our different terroirs.

Today
Today, Vito’s Grandson Roberto and Great Grandson Sergio keep alive the dream together with the new generations Riccardo and Alexandra.
